Someone wanted him dead. He plans to heal and then go hunting, because he knows what evil was behind the attack. Meanwhile, he finds the woman he has enthralled is more than his savior, and his compulsion to have her nearly costs them both their lives
My vampire villains are as entertaining as the heroes. I really like my Egyptian Priestess, royal robes and all. She's a perverted nasty piece of work and fun to write. She heats up the pages literally in Dark Night.
